Peachy Paper Piecing Layout with Dana Tatar

Hi! Dana Tatar here with you today sharing a layout that features the Dream Embossing Folder from the Couture Creations Fresh & Fun Collection. Every once in awhile, the scrappy planets align, and I'm able to assemble a layout where the page elements coordinate in a fantastic way. As soon as I saw the Dream Embossing Folder, I immediately knew where to find the piece of patterned paper in my stash that was almost a perfect match!

I had a lot of fun piecing together this colorful embossed design to complement my patterned paper!

I selected three colors of Core'dinations cardstock to match my patterned paper and embossed each of them with the Dream Embossing Folder.

I cut the circles, steams and leaves from the colored cardstock with my Sharp Point Scissors and glued them to a piece of white cardstock that I also embossed with the Dream Embossing Folder.

I used the Celestial Doily Die from the Fantasia Collection to cut some pretty doilies for my layout. I love that this die cuts two doilies at once! I cut the larger lace doily in half and used the pieces to frame my photo.

I used the smaller doily as a journaling spot.

For a finishing touch, I mimicked the dotted print along the stems on my patterned paper around the stems of my flower clusters with Vintage Gold Self Adhesive Gemstones.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Sophia Die Week - Happy Haunting with Pam Bray

Hi! Pam here today giving you a bit of Halloween inspiration. I am sure by now you have a few of your favorite Halloween photos printed and would like to do up a few layouts, so I would love to show you how I used some dies from the Couture Creations Sophia Collection to add some fabulous depth to my layout.

I used the Connexion Die at the top of my layout along with the Stella Die. I added a few roly poly flowers and placed a Vintage Gold Self-Adhesive Gemstone in the center of each of the flowers.

I used just the Stella Die at the bottom of my layout, and again, added a few roly poly flowers. I just love making them because they are so easy! Using one of the Circle Nesting Dies and your Sharp Point Scissors, cut a spiral into each circle you have die-cut. (I used the 2-inch circle Nesting Die for my flowers.) Then, using the tweezers from the Handheld Essentials Set, roll the paper into a tight circle and secure with a dot of glue.

I made a few flags and added them to my page. I adhered stickers to each flag with Foam Mounting Tape.

I fussy cut two images of a little girl sitting on a pumpkin and several postage stamps from patterned paper and created layered 3D embellishments by placing Foam Mounting Tape between identical images.

I hope you have enjoyed my layout and think about trying the Sophia dies on your projects!

Hugs,
Pammejo

Felt Flower Card by Dana Tatar

Hi! Dana here today sharing a fall themed card. I recently bought some felt and have been having a lot of fun creating felt flowers! This felt flower comes together fast with the help of the Daisy Nesting Dies and some hot glue, but let's start by assembling the card.

Step One: Emboss a piece of patterned paper with the Exotic Embossing Folder from the Couture Creations Fine Designs Collection. Lightly ink over the embossed pattern to highlight the design and adhere the paper to a cardstock card base.

Step Two: Cut a piece of orange cardstock with the Fleur-De Frame Nesting Die. Place the die over the cut piece of cardstock and, using a Sponge Dauber and the die as a mask, add ink to the open spaces of the die. Adhere the cardstock frame to the center of the card with Double-Sided Tape. Add two feathers to the top of the Fleur-De Frame.

Step Three: Cut a piece of double-sided patterned paper with the Ivy Doily Die Set and adhere the doilies, one of each pattern, to a strip of kraft paper and then to the card over the center of the Fleur-De Frame.

Step Four: Stamp a sentiment onto a piece of blue patterned paper and add three Vintage Gold Self Adhesive Gemstones. Adhere the sentiment strip to the center of the larger Ivy Doily with Double-Sided Tape.

Step Five: Emboss a piece of green cardstock with the Turkish Delight Embossing Folder (Fine Designs Collection). Using Sharp Point Scissors, cut two leaves from the embossed cardstock and adhere them to the card in the center of the two Ivy Doilies with Foam Mounting Tape.

Step Six: Assemble the felt flower and adhere it to the card with Foam Mounting Tape.

Felt Flower Tutorial

Step One: Cut five of the second smallest daisy shape and two of the smallest daisy shape from felt with the Daisy Nesting Dies.

Step Two: Fold one of the larger daisy shapes in half and secure with a dot of hot glue. Repeat for 3 more daisy shapes. The leftover larger daisy shape will be the used for the base of the flower.

Step Three: Fold each of the four flower shapes from Step Two in half again and secure with a dot of hot glue. These four pieces are the larger petals of the flower.

Step Four: Glue the four larger petals to the flower base.

Step Five: Fold and glue the two smaller daisy shapes the same way as the larger daisy shapes. Glue the two smaller petals to the top of the flower.

I adapted this flower design from a felt flower tutorial that I found here.

Hugs and Kisses by Pam Bray

Hi! Pam here today. I wanted to share with you my Hugs and Kisses card I made using the Couture Creations Confetti Embossing Folder and Picture Frame Nesting Die. First we have to a bit of embossing to do, so gather a stamp, a piece of white cardstock and embossing ink. Stamp the image on to the white cardstock and, taking three different colors of embossing powder and a small spoon, carefully put a bit of each color onto the stamped image. Tip: I do this by going lightest to darkest, making sure that I have a tray for each color and shaking the excess embossing powder off prior to going to the next color.  Using your embossing gun, heat set your embossing powder.

Now here's the fun part! Take the embossed piece of cardstock and place it in a favorite Couture Creations embossing folder. I used the Confetti Embossing Folder from the Couture Creations Elegance Collection.

Here is a closer look of the beautiful embossed cardstock.

I added some Couture Creations Foam Mounting Tape to the back of the card and then adhered it to my card base.

I ran the Couture Creations Picture Frame Nesting Die through my die-cutting machine, added a stamped white oval piece behind it and placed it to the top of my card front once I had my ribbon tied around my card.

I added a few embellishments to the front of my card once I had the frame in place.

Hugs,
Pammejo

Passion Embossing Folder Week - Passion Card with Dana

Hi! Dana here today sharing a card for the Passion Embossing Folder feature this week. I wanted to create a passionate card so I started with a deep red cardstock from the Core'dinations Whitewash Collection that I embossed with the Passion Embossing Folder. I then sanded the embossed cardstock with my Couture Creations Sanding Block to reveal the red color core for a dramatic effect.

I applied a rub-on and a key to a rectangular piece of the same cardstock and sanded the edges with my  Sanding Block, a fun alternative to inking. I embellished the corners with Vintage Gold Self Adhesive Gemstones and attached the piece to my card with Foam Mounting Tape.

Thanks for stopping by today! Stop by tomorrow to see Gloria's beautiful card!

Aging Embossed Aluminum with Dana

Hi! Dana here today sharing a card that I created with the Poetry Embossing Folder from the Elegance Collection. I started this card with an embossed piece of Aluminum. I added a patina finish to the aluminum with a patina green finishing set and some color to the blooms with alcohol inks. With a few simple steps, its possible to add years of weathering in just minutes!

Step One: Emboss a piece of aluminum with the Poetry Embossing Folder and prime the surface with a clear sealant.

Step Two: Using a paint brush, apply several coats of a copper metallic surfacer to the aluminum. While the last coat of metallic surfacer is still wet, randomly apply a patina green antiquing solution to the aluminum with a paint brush using a pouncing motion. Set aside to dry. Note: The Sophisticated Finishes Patina Green Set that I used is not a paint or faux finish. These chemicals cause copper, brass and bronze to oxidize as they might naturally, given years of exposure to the elements. The patina solutions work on genuine metals, like copper, brass and bronze, as well as non-metal surfaces, like wood, plaster, glass, ceramic, canvas, cardboard and plastic.

Step Three: Using a paint brush, apply color to the blooms with Alcohol Inks and let dry. Randomly apply a black tinting solution, or black paint or ink, to the aluminum for a grungy look. Let dry. Protect the aluminum with a coat of clear sealant.

Step Four: Mount the aluminum onto a card base and embellish to finish. Note: I mounted my aluminum piece onto a some cork, to add another fun layer of texture, and then onto a cardstock base. I then added a ribbon bow that I topped with a Vintage Gold Self Adhesive Gemstone. I finished my card with a sentiment sticker that I adhered with a piece of Foam Mounting Tape.
