Thank You Card Set with Pam Bray

Hi! Pam here today sharing with you a fun, sweet Thank You card that is super easy to create. I embossed a piece of grey cardstock with the Cheerful Embossing Folder (Elegance Collection) and adhered it to a card base with Double-Sided Tape. I added a piece of square pink cardstock that I embossed with the Crazy Daisy Embossing Folder (Fine Designs Collection). I love the look of using two different embossing folders together.

Next, I added a patterned doily, that I cut with the Ivy Set Doily Die (Fantasia Collection), and a small patterned rectangle that I cut with a Scallop Rectangle Nesting Die, to the front of the card. I love how the patterned die-cuts add a pop of color. To finish the card, I fussy cut a few flags from pattern paper using the Precision Scissors, stamped on a sentiment, and added them to the front of the card with some fun embellishments.

Why make one card when you can make a set?! You never have to many Thank You cards.

Thanks for stopping by today!
Hugs, Pammejo

Get Rusty with Gloria

Hello everyone! Gloria here today sharing a fall-themed card.

I created a faux patina effect for this card. It is a fun way to get more use out of your folders! I used the Endless Embossing Folder from the All Occasions Collection.

Use a brayer to add ink to the embossing folder. I used a selection of fall colors of dye ink. Make sure you add ink to the inside of the folder, on the section containing the black Couture Creations logo. Place cream cardstock into the folder and emboss. Wash your folder to prevent staining. Use a heat tool to make sure the ink on the cardstock is totally dry.

Create a "patina" by using a foam or sponge ink applicator to ink over the raised areas of the embossed paper with green, blue, and dark brown ink, in that order. Allow to dry. You may use a heat tool to dry the ink if you wish.

Ink some of the raised areas with watermark or clear embossing ink. You only want to heat emboss a few areas to create a "rusted" look on your card. Emboss with metallic embossing powder. I created my own "rust" powder by combining several powders together. Trim the paper to size and use it to create a card.

I cut out the sentiment with the Rectangle Nesting Dies and Scallop Rectangle Nesting Dies and attached it to the card with Foam Mounting Tape.

Thanks for joining me today!

Quick and Easy Embossing Designs by Gloria Stengel

Hello! It is Gloria with you today. I am sharing a "quick and easy" card! When I collect a new embossing folder, the first thing I do is emboss it, using whatever cardstock I have close by. I also will emboss various types of cardstock to get a feel for how the impression will look with different weights and textures of cardstock. As a result, I collect stacks of embossed patterns! It is easy to pair these embossed prints together to make quick cards!

To create this card follow these steps:

1. Make a 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 inch card from rust cardstock. Set aside.

2. Emboss metallic cardstock with the Extra Loren Embossing Folder from the Couture Creations Elegance Collection.

3. Using a Couture Creations Sponge Dauber, rub the metallic embossed cardstock with rust ink. Trim the panel to slightly smaller than the card front.

4. Emboss green cardstock with the Poetry Embossing Folder from the Couture Creations Elegance Collection.

5. Using a Couture Creations Sponge Dauber, rub the green embossed cardstock with green ink. Trim the panel to 4 3/4 x 3 inches and mat with rust cardstock. Attach to the left side of the embossed metallic cardstock.

6. Stamp a sentiment with brown ink and die cut with a Couture Creations Rectangle Nesting Die.

7. Mat the sentiment with a rectangle die cut with the Couture Creations Scallop Rectangle Nesting Die. Attach the sentiment to the other panels with Foam Mounting Tape.

8. Wrap twine around the embossed panels and secure. Attach the panels to the card front.

9. Tie a button onto the card with more twine.

You can create this same card with various embossed panels and stamps! Take a rainy afternoon to replenish your card stash with some quick and easy cards....using embossing folders, of course!

Thanks for looking!

Bright and Beautiful Birthday Card with Gloria

Hello everyone! Gloria here today. I have a bright and sunny card to share.

I love the bold colors mixed with black and white, and the "chalkboard" sentiment is just icing on the cake!

To create this card, first rub ink onto the Passion Embossing Folder from the Fine Designs Collection. Make sure to apply ink to the inside of the folder on the section that contains the black Couture Creations logo, as shown. If you don't care for the "watercolor" look, you can use a brayer to apply the ink. If you want a more "distressed" look, use the ink pad directly on the folder. Place white cardstock into the folder and emboss. Make sure to wash your folder right away with warm water.

Remove your paper from the folder and use a heat tool to make sure the ink is dry. Rub chalk pastels over the raised embossing. I chose a bright yellow chalk. Use your finger or a paper towel to buff the chalk. Use a gentle touch.

Next, create the flower. I used the Couture Creations Roses Nesting Dies.

Cut one of each size rose from yellow cardstock. Ink the edges with the same ink you used on the embossing folder. Rub the surface of each flower with the chalk pastel. Lightly spray each flower with spray mist (or water) and crumple them.

Once the flowers are dry, uncrumple them and cut slits between each petal. Gently bend each petal. Stack the flowers together, adhering them with glue.

Shape the rose as you attach each layer. The combination of the chalk and the spray mist gives the paper a rich, velvet texture.

Create the sentiment by stamping a greeting onto black cardstock with white or watermark ink. Heat emboss with white embossing powder. Use the Couture Creations Rectangle Nesting Dies and Scallop Rectangle Nesting Dies to cut out the sentiment as shown.

Attach your sentiment to the card with Foam Mounting Tape.

Joy Notepad with Gloria

Hello everyone! Gloria here today. I have created a sweet little notepad cover for you. I love notepads. They come in all sizes and shapes and one can never have too many! Creating custom covers for them is fun and easy, and they make wonderful quickie gifts!

You can decorate your notepad cover as much or as little as you wish.

My notepad measures 8 x 2 1/2 inches. If you cannot find notepads this size, you can purchase standard 8 x 5 inch pads and cut them in half. My office supply store will cut a whole stack of pads for me for a few dollars. If the "right" clerk is on duty, he will cut them for free!

1. Cut tan cardstock to 8 1/8 x 5 1/4 inches. Score at 2 1/2 and 2 3/4 inches on the short side. This makes your basic notepad cover to fit a 8 x 2 1/2 inch notepad.

2. Trim printed paper to 3 x 2 1/2 inches. Score the long side at 1 and 1 1/4 inches. This will create a little "topper" to hide the ugly binding on your notepad.

3. Cover the notepad binding and then attach the notepad to the right side of the notepad cover.

3. Emboss green cardstock with the Endless Embossing Folder from the All Occasions Collection. I used Core'dinations Cardstock and sanded it to reveal the pale core of the paper.

4. Trim black cardstock to 8 x 2 3/8 inches and attach to the front of the notepad cover. Trim embossed cardsctock to 2 1/4 inches wide. Trim two pieces, joined where the embossing matches, to create a 7 7/8 inch long strip. Attach the embossed strip to the black cardstock with the seam near the top of the notepad cover.

6. Using the large Ivy Doily Die (Fantasia Collection), cut and emboss a doily from patterned paper. You may need to use the Piercing Tool to remove some of the tiny bits from the die cut shape. Attach to the top of the notepad cover with Foam Mounting Tape, making sure to overlap the seam.

7. Stamp sentiment onto tan cardstock with black dye ink and cut with a Circle Nesting Die.

8. Attach the sentiment to the center of the doily die-cut shape.

9. Add Self Adhesive Pearls to the four corners of the notepad cover and attach a postage stamp image sticker to the bottom center.

10. Using the Scallop Rectangle Nesting Dies, cut a scalloped rectangle from black cardstock.

11. Line the Rectangle Nesting Die template over the a section of embossed leaves cardstock and tape down. Cut the embossed paper and adhere the rectangle to the scalloped rectangle mat.

12. Trim black cardstock to 8 x 2 3/8 inches and attach to the inside left of the cover. Trim printed paper to 7 7/8 x 2 1/4 inches and attach to the black cardstock.

13. Attach the leaf image to the center of the panel at an angle. Add a postage stamp image sticker to the bottom right edge of the panel.

Hepburn Embosing Folder Week - Card Tutorials with Gloria and Dana

Welcome to the Hepburn Embossing Folder Feature Week! We're highlighting projects created with the gorgeous Couture Creations Hepburn Embossing Folder every day this week. Each member of the CSW Distributors Design Team has created a card using the Hepburn Embossing Folder and we can't wait to share our designs with you. To start the week off, we're sharing not one, but two, card tutorials! Enjoy!

Hello everyone! Gloria here with you today sharing a card tutorial. I have created a French country anniversary card with the Hepburn Embossing Folder and a few fun stamping techniques.

1. Create a 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 inch top-fold card from black cardstock.

2. Emboss kraft cardstock with the Large Hepburn Embossing Folder from the Elegance Collection.

3. Ink a script stamp with black dye ink and stamp onto the embossed paper. Press very lightly to ensure that you are only stamping on the raise part of the paper.

4. Continue stamping with the script stamp until you have covered all embossed areas. Trim the embossed cardstock to 5 3/8 x 4 1/8 inches and attach to the front of the card.

5. Trim black cardstock to 2 x 4 1/4 inches. Trim printed paper to 1 7/8 x 4 1/8 inches and attach to the black cardstock strip. (I have used Graphic 45 French Country papers.) Wrap brown twine around the center of the panel and attach the panel to the card front with Foam Mounting Tape, approximately 1 1/4 inches from the top of the card.

6. Using the small Ivy Doily Die (Fantasia Collection), cut and emboss two doilies from patterned paper. You may need to use the Piercing Tool to remove some of the tiny bits from the die-cut shape. Trim the doilies in half and tuck the three partial doilies under the panel from Step 5.

7. Using the Key To My Heart Die from the Endless Dreams Collection, cut two keys from cream cardstock. Rub one key with Burnt Copper pigment ink and the other with Verdigris. Allow to dry.

8. Using a script stamp and black dye ink, stamp both keys with the script image. Tie the keys to the right side of the card with twine.

9. Using the Scallop Rectangle Nesting Dies, cut a scalloped rectangle from black cardstock.

10. Line the Rectangle Nesting Die template over the printed sunflower image and tape down. Cut and adhere the image to the scalloped rectangle mat.

11. Using Foam Mounting Tape, attach the image to the left edge of the card, overlapping the twine.

12. Decorate the inside of the card with a strip of printed paper and a postage image stamp (Hampton Art/Graphic 45 French Country). Stamp an French anniversary greeting in the center of the panel with black dye ink.

Hi! Dana here today sharing how to make your own flocked cardstock with the Hepburn Embossing Folder from the Couture Creations Elegance Collection and flocking powder. The raised areas of  embossed cardstock provides a flat surface that is ideal for adding flock.

1. Emboss a piece of cardstock with the Couture Creations Hepburn Embossing Folder

2. Choose several colors of flocking powder. Use a glue pad, craft glue or a double-sided adhesive to apply the flocking powder to the cardstock.

3. Pour the flocking over the cardstock, pat down using a scrap piece of paper, and shake of the excess. Repeat for the remaining colors of flock.

4. Use a heat tool to set the flock for a more permanent finish. Trim the excess cardstock from the flocked design.

5.  Mount the flocked cardstock onto a card base and embellish to finish.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!
