Spread You Wings and Soar Card by Cathi O'Neill

Hi! Couture Creations Designer Cathi O'Neill here today sharing a card I created with the gorgeous Harmony Oriental Garden Embossing Folder and the Secret Treasures Feather Die!

I embossed some Core'dinations Grassroot cardstock using the Harmony Oriental Garden Embossing Folder. I cut the paper down to 4 3/4" square and matted it with a second layer of Tim Holtz Worn Lipstick Core'dinations cardstock measuring 5" square.

I added a golden sheen to the embossed areas on the cardstock using gold gilding wax.

I added stitching to the card edges.

I die-cut more of the Worn Lipstick Core'dinations cardstock using the Secret Treasures Feather Die. I embossed the edges of the feathers with olive gold embossing powder, adding a bit more of the gold gilding wax. I finished the card with a bit of twine and a sentiment.

I hope you like my card! Thanks so much for stopping by!

Vintage Shabby Chic Card by Cathi O'Neill

Hi! Couture Creations Designer Cathi O'Neill here today! I'm sharing a card that I created with some gorgeous glimmer cardstock and some NEW embossing folders and dies released by Couture Creations.

To start my card I used a base of green glimmer cardstock and embossed it with the beautiful Asian Wave Embossing Folder.

Next, I layered on top of my card a piece of cardstock cut with the beautiful Madeline Les Fleurs Die. To the center of the die-cut I added a beautiful vintage image of a woman.

I add some yummy keys from the Madeline Keys to My Heart Die.

I antiqued my card by adding gesso. It highlighted the raised edges of the embossed pattern, and when I coated the edges and random spots on the doily and key die-cuts, it added a really antiqued peeling whitewash paint effect to card. I just love how effective it looks!

To finish the card I added a vintage seam binding double bow on the keys and some Moonlight Self Adhesive Pearls on the doily. Simply done, but a very textured and elegant effect.

Thanks so much for visiting today!

Sophia Die Week - Dance by Cathi O'Neill

Hi! Cathi O'Neill here today with you sharing a layout for the Sophia Die feature this week. All she wants to do is dance! I have that Don Henley 80s song running through my head now! My daughter is addicted to ballet, and as she goes up grades, her teacher has encouraged her. She wants to be a professional dancer and it is great to see her so passionate about something. It is a competitive world but if she is serious about this, we will be here to help her along. (Though the idea of long distances travelled for all of this is something I wouldn't mind not having to do, lol!)

This layout showcases some of the new Sophia Intricutz Dies. I just love the amazing flourishes in the Sophia collection. I chose to use the Lanvin Die and the Stella Die, cutting them out on white cardstock and misting them with Shimmerz sprays.

I used the Fresh and Fun Magical Embossing Folder for the background paper for the fussy cut image of my daughter. I used the Couture Creations Sanding Block to bring up the pattern.

Next, I took the Fantasia Collection Dazzling Doily Die and cut it out of white cardstock. I cut the doily in half and inked it with Walnut Stain Distress Ink using the Couture Creations Sponge Daubers.

I then started layering the papers for the layout, putting down the embossed cardstock first and the lace, tucking the doilies underneath and arranging the flourish die cuts on top. I then took my fussy cut photo of my daughter secured it to the page using 12mm Foam Mounting Tape.

I added several pieces of ballet themed chipboard from Molossi and a few flowers, and placed the photo there in the scene. I got my inspiration for this type of layout from the gorgeous work of Britt Sviggum and really wanted to try it!

I added some molding paste through a damask stencil, some gorgeous script and crackle pattern stamping and bright mist to finish the page. I had a lot of fun making this!

Thanks for stopping by today!

United We Stand Card by Cathi O'Neill

Hi! Cathi O'Neill here today with a patriotic card for CSW Distributors. I just love to use vintage images with my cards, and I paired one with my Couture Creations embossing folders, dies and pearls to make a red, white and blue Fourth of July card!

I started by using the Couture Creations Fresh and Fun Large Powder Puff Embossing Folder. The shapes reminded me of stylized fireworks and was the perfect backdrop for my image.

I used Scallop Square Nesting Dies, and put two together to make my rectangular shape, hiding the joint under the festive ribbon.

I cut a slit into the cardstock with my Couture Creations Craft Knife and threaded the ribbon through so it could lay flat.

To make my rolled flowers I used the smallest flower form the Couture Creations Daisy Nesting Die set and cut a spiral into each of them, rolling and securing the flower and adding a pearl in the center of the flowers.

I used the Endless Dreams Tranquility Decorative Die, which again reminded me of fireworks, to embellish the card.

To put the card together I used 18mm Double Sided Tape to attach the scallop squares to the embossed card base.

I attached the vintage image and sentiment with Couture Creations Foam Mounting Tape to add dimension. I love this foam tape so much, I don't have much left! I think I need to put in a request for more soon! I just love the dimension it gives to cards and layouts!

I tied the bow around the card, added the sentiment and glued the flowers and flourishes into place.
