Blessings with Pam Bray

Hi its Pam here today. I'm sharing my "Blessings" card that I created using the Confetti Embossing Folder from the Couture Creations Elegance Collection. I just love the Core'dinations Kraft Core Distress Cardstock and think the burnt orange is just perfect for the fall card I made.

The Kraft core really pops when I used my Sanding Block to sand the top of the embossed pattern and I love how the sunflowers look against it. I fussy cut my sunflowers out with my Sharp Point Scissors, after I colored them with Copic Markers, and placed them onto the front of my card with a bit of Foam Mounting Tape. Felt Flower Card by Dana Tatar

Hi! Dana here today sharing a fall themed card. I recently bought some felt and have been having a lot of fun creating felt flowers! This felt flower comes together fast with the help of the Daisy Nesting Dies and some hot glue, but let's start by assembling the card.

Step One: Emboss a piece of patterned paper with the Exotic Embossing Folder from the Couture Creations Fine Designs Collection. Lightly ink over the embossed pattern to highlight the design and adhere the paper to a cardstock card base.

Step Two: Cut a piece of orange cardstock with the Fleur-De Frame Nesting Die. Place the die over the cut piece of cardstock and, using a Sponge Dauber and the die as a mask, add ink to the open spaces of the die. Adhere the cardstock frame to the center of the card with Double-Sided Tape. Add two feathers to the top of the Fleur-De Frame.

Step Three: Cut a piece of double-sided patterned paper with the Ivy Doily Die Set and adhere the doilies, one of each pattern, to a strip of kraft paper and then to the card over the center of the Fleur-De Frame.

Step Four: Stamp a sentiment onto a piece of blue patterned paper and add three Vintage Gold Self Adhesive Gemstones. Adhere the sentiment strip to the center of the larger Ivy Doily with Double-Sided Tape.

Step Five: Emboss a piece of green cardstock with the Turkish Delight Embossing Folder (Fine Designs Collection). Using Sharp Point Scissors, cut two leaves from the embossed cardstock and adhere them to the card in the center of the two Ivy Doilies with Foam Mounting Tape.

Step Six: Assemble the felt flower and adhere it to the card with Foam Mounting Tape.

Felt Flower Tutorial

Step One: Cut five of the second smallest daisy shape and two of the smallest daisy shape from felt with the Daisy Nesting Dies.

Step Two: Fold one of the larger daisy shapes in half and secure with a dot of hot glue. Repeat for 3 more daisy shapes. The leftover larger daisy shape will be the used for the base of the flower.

Step Three: Fold each of the four flower shapes from Step Two in half again and secure with a dot of hot glue. These four pieces are the larger petals of the flower.

Step Four: Glue the four larger petals to the flower base.

Step Five: Fold and glue the two smaller daisy shapes the same way as the larger daisy shapes. Glue the two smaller petals to the top of the flower.

Country Christmas Cards with Gloria Stengel

Hello everyone! Gloria here with you today. I recently received the NEW Wrapped in Joy embossing folder set and I decided...why not make some quick and easy cards - and get a jump-start on my holiday card making?! I actually have two cards to share today in a "country Christmas" theme. I wanted the cards to be fairly easy to mail. I also wanted to create some cards that use embossing folders and just a few, simple items so that you could make a bunch at one time. (Both cards for today are standard size - 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 or A2.)

For this card, I simply made a dark red card base and lined it with kraft cardstock (for adding a sentiment on the inside of the card). I then embossed another piece of kraft cardstock with the Christmas Lyrics Embossing Folder.

Using a Sponge Dauber, I gently rubbed white ink over the embossed cardstock. I love the "snowy" look of the white ink on the kraft cardstock. After I trimmed the panel to size, I rubbed more white ink around the edges.

To finish the card, I added some twine and a faux vintage button.

The card has a lot of texture and interest, but is actually quite flat, and easy to mail. If you are worried about the button making the card too bulky, you could just add the twine and leave the button off. I decided to create a second card using the "chalk ink" technique. This is one of my all-time-favorite embossing techniques. It's an oldie, but a goodie!

I created an off-white card base and embossed red cardstock with the Moonlit Berries Embossing Folder.

This time, I rubbed the embossed cardstock with a creamy white ink for a softer look. To add some extra fun to the card, I placed Self-Adhesive Pearls on a few of the berries. (This makes the card a bit bulkier. You may need to add a sheet of thin cardstock to the inside of your envelope when mailing this one.) I also created a flower from a scrap of leftover lace. To make the little blossom, simply use some thread to place a running stitch across one long edge of the lace. Pull the threads to gather the lace, and tie off the ends. I added a pearl to the center of the flower. I also die-cut a swirl using the Mimi Decorative Die. I cut the swirl from green cardstock and trimmed a bit of it to use behind my lace flower.

Wrapped In Joy Week - Quick and Easy Trendy Christmas Cards by Gloria Stengel

Hello everyone! Gloria here today sharing a few "trendy" Christmas cards with you for the Wrapped In Joy feature this week. I am on a kick to create cards that are: quick to create, use only basic supplies, and are easy to mail. (Both cards for today are standard size - 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 or A2.) I am not sure I would call myself a "trendy girl" but I thought that these two cards had that "vibe."

For this card, I made a black card base. I then embossed a piece of dark red Core'dinations cardstock with the Jolly Christmas Embossing Folder. I used the Sanding Block to sand the raised areas. The pale paper core shows through. I chose a trendy hexagon print paper to add some extra interest to the card, and I created an icicle border with a punch.

I added a very trendy chalkboard sentiment to the front of the card and finished it all off with a little "bell and bow" action. Clean and simple cards are all the rage these days. I confess that this is a style that I am not very good at, but I think this next card is my own version of CAS.

 

I embossed some textured glossy paper with the Peaceful Ornaments Embossing Folder. I trimmed off the bottom portion of the embossed image and added Self-Adhesive Gemstones to each of the embossed ornaments.

 

I added a sentiment, which is one of my very own stamp designs I cut out the sentiment with the Victorian Rectangle Nesting Dies. I rubbed the edges of the rectangle with green ink. I hope you are inspired to create some quick and easy and trendy Christmas cards!

Wrapped in Joy Week - Joy, Peace and Love with Pam

Hi! Pam here today wishing you each joy, peace and love. We are featuring the Couture Creations Wrapped in Joy Collection this week. For my project I made a "Joy, Peace and Love" Card using the Moonlit Berries Embossing Folder along with a piece of Core'dinations Burgundy Kraft Distress Cardstock that I ran through my embossing machine. I sanded the top lightly with my Couture Creations Sanding Block to expose the Kraft core of the pretty holly leaves before placing it on my 4" x 5 1/2" card base.

I added a bit of lace under my patterned paper that I attached to my card front with some Couture Creations Double-Sided Tape. I also adhered several small pieces of coordinating papers to the top of my card with Double-Sided Tape. I added a pair of epoxy Santa embellishments to finish my card. Wrapped In Joy Week - Magical Card Set with Dana

Hi! Dana here today sharing a set of Christmas cards for the Wrapped In Joy feature this week. I created two cards with one embossed piece of cardstock and one die-cut doily!

The layers of white cardstock make me think of freshly fallen snow! I kept this card set simple for quick assembly. I added a fun pop of color with layered snowflakes and multicolored twine.

Follow these steps to create this card set:

Step One: Embossing a piece of white cardstock with the A Magical Time Embossing Folder. Cut the embossed piece of cardstock into two even pieces and mount each to the top of a white card base.

Step Two: Cut a piece of white cardstock with the Celestial Doily Die. Cut the doily into two even pieces and mount each doily piece under the embossed piece of cardstock on each card base.

Step Three: Wrap a length of multicolored twine around each card front, covering the seam where the embossed cardstock and doily meet.

Step Four: Embellish each card with a festive snowflake.

Wrapped In Joy Week - Cadbury's First Christmas by Kerrie Gurney

Hi, Kerrie Gurney here with a Christmas layout using the new Couture Creations Jolly Christmas Paper Pad, Wrapped In Joy Embossing Folders and Sophia Dies. I love the fun designs and colors of the Jolly Christmas Paper Pad. I very rarely decorate for Christmas in traditional colors, so it is perfect for me!

To create this layout cut 4 x 1" strips from teal colored cardstock and emboss using the Jolly Christmas Embossing Folder. Note: Two pieces of cardstock can fit through the slot in the top of the  embossing folder, cutting your embossing time in half!

Mitre cut the corners of the cardstock by holding two strips together as they would be arranged on the layout and simply cut with a pair of Sharp Point Scissors.

Emboss a piece of darker teal cardstock using the Peaceful Ornaments Embossing Folder and sand all embossed pieces with the Couture Creations Sanding Block to reveal color core of the cardstock. 

Die-cut one of each of the Matiloa and Bossa Sophia Dies using teal cardstock and Jack patterned paper.

Arrange all the page elements onto the patterned paper used for the base of the layout. Use Foam Mounting Tape to attach the embossed border to the page. Sprinkle tinsel glitter onto the die-cuts. Accent several circles on the patterned paper with Seaspray Gemstones.
